Dear Parents and Carers,
As you can see from our diary dates, tomorrow 7th of July, we have our final parents’ and carers’ evening of the school year. This is different to the previous two in the autumn and spring, as we don’t have appointments.
You are welcome to drop in at any time between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm, this is an opportunity to look at work completed this year and a chance to check any queries from your child’s report. This report will be shared with parents tomorrow by email.
This will also be an opportunity to meet your child’s new teacher ahead of next term. As you can see, we have changed the names of each class to support our strategy plan for next academic Year.
Selsdon Primary school will be developing a culture where physical activity, sport, and wellbeing are central to the life of the school. Our ambition is to become a recognised sports-promoting primary school, where all pupils develop the skills, confidence, and enjoyment to lead active, healthy lives. More information regarding this will be shared with the parents at the begining of September.
Earlier in the day, children will also spend time with their new teacher as part of our transition programme for the upcoming school year.

Please note that our current Year 2 cohort will be split into two classes in September. In addition, our current Reception pupils will join mixed Year 1/2 classes.
The mixed Year 1/2 model has been highly successful this year, with pupils making good progress both academically and socially. Following a review of its impact, we have decided to continue with this arrangement for the coming academic year.
The school office will write to all parents to confirm their child’s class and teacher for next year. This communication will include the class allocations for our current Reception pupils moving into the mixed Year 1/2 classes, as well as our current Year 2 pupils moving into Year 3.
