As you know, the government has now instructed all schools to close from today until further notice.
Learning
While your children are at home we have put the following in place to ensure that they keep on learning.
We have made up home learning packs (exercise book, pencils, reading books and sharpener) will be sent home with pupils tomorrow. If your child is not in school and you are not self-isolating in-line with government guidance, you can come and collect these from the school office today.
We will use the year group blogs that are currently in use from Nursery to Year 6.
The teachers will be posting learning activities on the year group blog each day. So please make sure that you are signed up for the relevant blog(s), so that you receive updates.
All children in Years 3 – 6 have a login to Times Tables Rock Stars in their reading diary. We expect them to login and use this every day.
Sports staff will post PE instruction videos on the year groups blogs each week.
We will also be posting links to any other interesting learning activities and ideas on the blogs.
Safeguarding
Our safeguarding and pastoral staff will be available during the school closure. If you have any concerns, please email the school and we will respond as quickly as we can:
- Selsdon Primary: admin@selsdonprimary.org.uk
- Heavers Farm: office@heaversfarm.croydon.sch.uk
Supporting Families with Food Provisions
At Selsdon Primary our meals are provided by Principals catering company. From next week they will be providing free weekly food bags which will be available for collection from the school for all families in need. There should be enough in each bag to last for one week. We will text parents as soon as they are ready for collection. We will let you know what day of the week. They will be available weekly after that.
We are also looking into sourcing baby formula and nappies as parents have told us that these are extremely hard to get at the moment.
Hi
Is it possible to share the weekly half-term plan for Year 2 and Year 5 as per this area of the website: curriculum https://selsdonprimary.com/about-us/curriculum/ The layout of the Year 2 plan was particularly helpful as both my girls still want to continue learning about other subjects alongside Maths, English and Spelling. I want to do my best to support them with this but some guidance on what would have been covered would be so helpful.
Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback. You will need to go into each year group’s blog, click on the ‘curriculum’ tab at the top and you will there find the information. Best wishes
That’s great. So sorry, I missed this the first time around but this is exactly what I was after. Thank you!
You’re welcome. Stay safe.
Hi what would be happening with the food parcels and when will these be available?
