Food Parcel Update

Dear parents/carers,

We are extremely sorry to inform you that the food delivery company has now changed our delivery to Friday.

Following the governments most recent announcements we want to make sure that we are keeping all of you safe, therefore on Friday we will taking the following precautions.

Parents of pupils who are entitled to free school meals are asked to collect their parcel at the times listed below to ensure that there are not large groups of people on the school site.

Group 1: 1.00pm – 1.30pm – If your child’s surname begins with A – D

Group 2: 1.30pm – 2.00pm – If your child’s surname begins with E – H

Group 3: 2.00pm – 2.30pm – If your child’s surname begins with I – M

Group 4: 2.30pm – 3.00pm – If your child’s surname begins with N – R

Group 5: 3.00pm – 3.30pm – If your child’s surname begins with S -Z

Group 6: 3.30pm – 4.30pm Left over parcels will be made available to all families.

Staff will place the bags on tables in the playground. Parents/carers should take one bag per child from the table. Please remember to remain 2 metres apart from one another. Staff will be there to supervise this.

Once you have collected your bag please ensure that you leave the school grounds straight away so that you do not come into contact with the next group of parents that will be arriving.

If your child is entitled to free school meals then you do not need to email the office to request a bag. You or a nominated person should arrive at school at the allocated time slot on Friday. If your child is not entitled to free school meals, but you are currently experiencing difficulties and would like to receive a food bag then please email the school office on admin@selsdonprimary.org.uk and we can discuss this with you.

Any food parcels that are left over by 3.30pm will be available for any parent to collect between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Friday.

Please ensure that you do not have any symptoms of Coronavirus and have not been in contact with anyone that has within the past 14 days before coming to collect your food bag.

Thank you very much for your understanding at this very difficult time.

  4. Hello Phoebe, I am very sorry to hear this. We are aware that there are some families who are not entitled to pupil premium funding, but are currently experiencing difficulties. Any parents in this situation should email the school office and we will contact them individually to see how we can support them at this difficult time.

  5. Hi all.
Just wanted to say that the 3 food parcels that we collected from school today have been distributed to 2 young mums who couldn’t get out to get food for their young families. And the other has been given to an elderly resident who is isolating due to suffering from COPD. They all wanted me to pass on their thanks to Selsdon primary for their generous donations.

I would like to add that I am happy to collect whatever is left over each week and distribute to those most at need.
    We’re all in this together.
    Stay safe everyone. Xx
