At the end of half term, Hawk class were lucky enough to visit The British Library for a fantastic workshop called ‘Play on Words’.
The class were tasked with finding a variety of word types (nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs) contained within resources found in the library’s ‘Treasure Gallery’. From there, the children created amazing starting sentences using the words that they had found!
We realised just how easy it could be to create powerful imagery, using only a few words!
We then got to use ink and stamps to create words using a variety of printing techniques. Our finished result was made into a book!
It was a brilliant afternoon, and all of Hawk class should be incredibly proud of themselves – they demonstrated excellent behaviour throughout the day and were able to create some inspiring work! Well done!
