Our half term theme this term is ‘Disability Awareness’.
How do you interpret this quote?
Reflect on what disability is and the strong qualities that those with disabilities have.
Are there any people you know (famous or not) that demonstrate how disability does not mean inability?

Hello all, my name is Miss Jeffries and I am the 2023/24 Year 5 Cormorant class teacher. I am very excited for the year ahead. Here is a little bit more about me to help you get to know me a little better. In my spare time, I enjoy hula hooping, going to the gym and going for walks - with our beautiful English Bulldog, Mabel. My friends and family mean a lot to me and so I love to go and see them whenever I can. I look forward to working with you and getting to know you all throughout the year!

I think this quote means that having a disability shouldn’t stop you from doing things like other people. You shouldn’t think anyone is more special just because they don’t have a disability.
I think this quote means that just because you have a disability doesn’t mean you can’t do certain things in life. You could say that a disability isn’t really a disability, it’s just a different ability.
