Gardening Club and School Allotment

The children at Gardening Club, with Teaching Assistant Mrs Humphreys and the help of other staff members, have been working hard getting our allotment ready for summer.

The raised beds have been filled with compost, seeds sown and some vegetable and fruit plants are already growing – peas, cucumbers, carrots, pumpkin and strawberries, just to name a few. Mrs Humphreys has painted the fence and shed in bright colours. A wild flower garden has been planted and scented sensory garden is planned. A robin has also nested in the shed and is busy feeding its young chicks, so we will be keeping a close eye on progress as the chicks grow and hopefully fledge their nest.

Parents and carers are very welcome to visit and take a look at the allotment when you come in for Open Afternoon this Friday, 26th May!
