Attendance

Focus on Attendance

We have had a great start to the school year with attendance at the target level of 96% for the school overall. Remember, this is the expected level of attendance for every child in the school. Research shows that good attendance enables children to achieve at a higher level. We want the best for all our pupils so we encourage high attendance throughout your child’s time with us.

Each week, in Friday’s celebration assembly, the previous week’s attendance for each class is announced, with the winning class in each key stage being awarded stickers and a poster to display on their classroom door. The winning classes are also awarded some extra play time!

At the end of each term, all children with attendance above 96%, and who also have excellent punctuality (no more than one late mark each term), will be entered into a prize draw where they could win some great prizes! All children in the draw will also receive an attendance badge to wear on their school jumper.

Thank you for your support in helping Selsdon Primary School maintain its excellent attendance levels! Look out for future posts where we will celebrate the best attending classes each week.
