Dear Parents and Carers,
If you are booking an overseas holiday this summer, you must consider the quarantine time that may be required on your return to the UK.
Children are due to return to school on Monday 6 September 2021, so you should ensure that your return date is at least 10 days before then so that your child(ren) start school on time at the beginning of term. This means that you should arrive back in the UK at the latest by 26 August 2021.
Therefore in line with our attendance policy and procedures, you may be liable for these absences to be classified as unauthorised. Parents and carers have a legal duty to ensure regular attendance and if you fail to do so, you may commit an offence under Section 444 of the Education Act 1996.
For pupils with unauthorised absence from school (that is any absence that the school has not given permission for) their parents may be subject to a Fixed Penalty Notice of £60 – £120 under the Education Act 1996.
