Cross Country Tomorrow!

Fridays are our day to be extra sporty at Selsdon Primary. In this vein, we are having our cross-country competition tomorrow!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, sports things are a little different this year than usual. Usually we go and secure some team and individual medals at the Croydon-wide competition at Lloyd Park, showing all of Croydon what we’re made of. We are not able to attend this competition this year, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to just forget about cross-country!

Tomorrow, we will have an in-school cross-country for Years 3-6, which we will send the results of to the London Youth Games!

If you wish to take part tomorrow, all you need to do is wear in your PE/sports clothing (anything comfortable and appropriate for running long-distance) and trainers and when your teacher says it’s time for cross-country, you go to the start line!

This will be totally COVID-19 safe, as each bubble will run together, there will be no mixing. Every class in a year group will run the same route and we will mark down the times of the top 7 runners, we will then compare these with the other classes in the year group and have a year group 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We will announce these on the blog!

We will also let the teachers know, based on the top four runners in each class, which class is the overall winner in the year group.

We look forward to as many of you taking part as possible, and continuing our tradition of cross-country greatness!
