Hello Everybody,
I know these have been strange times, and the future of our school sport is a little bit up in the air.
But, we are hoping that we will be able to have sports competitions at some point during the year, whilst staying safe from COVID-19.
The first thing we are doing is trying to organise our football teams. We have two football teams in school; our mixed team, who compete in the Croydon Schools FA, and our girls’ football team, who compete in the Croydon Schools Girls League. This means there are a lot of opportunities for children to get involved.
Both teams are at the Year 5&6 age-group. However, there are sometimes opportunities for children in Years 3&4.
For this reason, we’re offering all children in Years 3-6 the opportunity to take part in our non-contact football trials next week.
These will take place on the field during the school day, on Friday, 18th September 2020.
To take part, you must let your teacher know you want to take part before Wednesday, 16th September 2020.
Your teacher will tell the sports coaches that you want to take part, and the coaches will come and collect you from your class at some point during the day on Friday.
We can assure you that these trials will be COVID-19 safe, and will involve no contact drills. Equipment will be disinfected and all children will be required to wash hands before and after the trial.
Please ensure that children have appropriate footwear for the field if they are taking part, football boots would be best, but trainers are ok as well (make sure you don’t mind them getting muddy).
We are looking forward to seeing your football skills next Friday!
