I hope that you are all well and keeping safe in these most challenging of times.
In recent weeks, you may have heard a lot of discussion about the reopening of schools. At the moment the government has not given us any clear timeframe for this. We know that our schools will remain closed for most children until at least the 8th May. As soon as we are given a date, rest assured that a plan will be put in place to ensure that best interests and safety of our whole school community.
Whilst our schools remain closed we will continue our daily programme of home learning activities. We have been listening to your feedback to improve the way in which home learning is being organised and shared with you. The staff have been working hard to bring you a package of learning that will meet the needs of as many of our children as possible. Learning activities are posted on the year group blogs each morning at 8.00am.
We know that home learning can be very challenging. It is hard for parents (and children!). It is important that you know that the children do not have to complete all of the activities each day. Please do not put yourself under too much pressure. We know it has probably been hard to motivate everyone after the Easter break. It is important that the children remain calm and happy – this will help them learn better.
In addition to the learning activities, this week the teachers will be trying to contact everyone in their class. We miss you all and the teachers want to reach out and say hello and see how you are doing!
If you would like to find out more about coronavirus, here is a link to a free information book explaining coronavirus to children aged 5 to 9 years old. It is illustrated by Axel Scheffler who illustrated The Gruffalo.

Please keep safe and we look forward to seeing you again when the school reopens.
Take care
