Top of the net!

Yesterday was a really great day at Virgo Fidelis Convent Senior School when the Selsdon netball team went to the Croydon School Sports Partnership Netball Qualifiers.

This was a new experience for our squad, many of whom did not have much experience in netball, but it was a really positive one, as we only lost one of our matches and finished 5th overall.

Hi-5 netball is slightly different to the full seven-a-side game. It has lots of positions and everybody rotates around the different roles, with five players on the court at any one time. It’s a great way to learn all the on-court positions and helps give children a grasp of the physical and tactical skills required.

Our squad had a really wonderful time exploring this new sport and we’re all very proud of how well they represented Selsdon! A special mention goes to Adjiewaa, who was scouted by a representative for Croydon Netball League because of her fantastic performance!
