Porridge : a warming start to the day

Everyone knows that eating breakfast is important to help us start our day in the right way, so we are offering a free cup of porridge to any child who wishes to have one.  Oats release energy slowly, and are a great way to start the day ready for children to start learning and dried fruit or honey can be added to the porridge for sweetness.

Our porridge stand will be found in the playground, opposite the main hall, from 8:35am – 8:50am.  I shall look forward to seeing you try some!

  1. What a great idea. I expect my daughter will have some as a second breakfast and start her school day with porridge down her pinafore 😊

  2. What a lovely idea. My son is a very fussy eater but has been very excited and eager to get to school early in time for porridge. This has not only provided him with the opportunity to be confident to try new tastes that he has been unwilling to do at home but also on his first day of having porridge he was eager to explain he had a great day at school and in his words told me “Mum I did better learning today because of that porridge”. Thank you I think morning porridge is a great idea and will be beneficial to many children .

  3. I am so pleased that your son is enjoying the porridge. It is lovely to see so many children taking advantage of it in the morning – as well as hearing so many positive comments.
