Getting ready for Spring

It’s a bit wet and muddy out there at the moment so we won’t be planting anything until after February half term. However, we can start with preparations for the new planting season now.

Thanks to the Morrisons vouchers lots of you brought in, I have been able to order all the seeds we need to grow a wide variety of vegetables in the allotment. What we don’t have at the moment are any labels so we can mark what is growing where.

Therefore, I would like to invite all the children to design colourful labels for the vegetables that we will be growing: carrots, radish, butternut squash, climbing beans, sweetcorn, spring onions, beetroot, brussels sprouts, lettuce, rocket, peas.

There is no limit to the number of designs you submit and I hope to use as many as possible, although I can’t promise that I will use them all.

You can find me in 4B before school starts to give me your designs, and the closing date for giving them to me is 31st January 2014.

  1. Just to clarify – I am expecting colourful pictures that I can make into plant labels. The closing date for entries is next Friday (31st).
