Jeans for Genes Day

genes

Jeans for Genes Day is on Friday.

This campaign raises money foGenetic Disorders UK

Individually, genetic disorders are rare but together they affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies each year. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 years and under.

On Friday we are asking staff and children to come to school in jeans. We are asking for a donation of £1 from children and £2 from staff.

** Update: Children can wear their own tops and shoes/trainers along with their jeans **

  1. Hi, just wanted to check whether the children will still need to wear school shirts, jumpers, ties etc.
    Thank you.

  2. I think it’s lovely the school is doing this for a really important cause, instead of just for Children in Need or Red Nose Day!

  3. Would it be possible in future to give parents more warning for different events. My daughter has out grown her jeans and as I work it will be very difficult to get her some in time. Thank you.

  4. Hello Ali,

Yes, I am working on this! I have spoken to Mrs Realis who organises the diary and asked her for the dates for all events over the coming year. Once I have this I will put it up on the blog so that everyone can plan well ahead.

    Best wishes

    Susan
