Year 6 Secondary Application Meeting

We are a feeder school for Riddlesdown Collegiate  and as such, if you wish to apply, your child will be guaranteed a place in Year 7.

We are holding a meeting for parents and carers of pupils in Year 6 on Thursday 12th September 2013 at 6.00pm. This will give parents a chance to explore the range of options available to you at this very important time.

The deadline for secondary school applications that are submitted online is midnight 31 October 2013. CAFs (Common Application Form) can also be hand delivered to Croydon. You can do this by bringing it to our school office and we will return them on your behalf. Croydon recommend that if parents are returning application paper CAFs then they should be handed in to our office by Friday 25 October 2013 at the latest.

We have invited representatives from local secondary schools to attend. So far we have received confirmation from Riddlesdown Collegiate and Whitgift School. These representatives will talk through their application process and answer any of your questions. A number of other schools have been invited, we are awaiting their confirmation.

We will also have information about other local secondary schools available for you.

I look forward to meeting you all.

  1. The meeting about secondary school applications is at the same time as an open evening. Is it possible to therefore attend another meeting. Also for future year groups it would be a good idea to have an information evening in year 5 especially as apparently some schools have application exams in June of year 5

  2. Hello Michelle,

I know the Year 6 staff tried to avoid clashing with open evenings, but I think that this is very difficult at this time of year. We will try and put as much information here on the blog for those who cannot attend tomorrow. I can also ask your child’s teacher to send home any leaflets or information from the meeting.

    Hope that helps.
