My name is Susan Papas and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Interim Executive Headteacher here at Selsdon Primary School. I have been the Headteacher at Heavers Farm Primary School in South Norwood since 2007; having spent all of my teaching career in Croydon. I will be at Selsdon for four days a week and at Heavers for one. The days I spend at each school will change from week to week depending on what is needed.
I took over the leadership of the school last week and have spent my time finding out more about Selsdon. I aim to be here for at least the next two terms whilst the Governing Body explore the range of possible leadership options. I have set up this school blog as a way of keeping in contact with the whole school community. I prefer an open style of leadership and my office door will always be open. I will be out and about in the playgrounds before and after school, so please come and say hello!
I hope that you will all sign up to this blog so that you receive an email every time I post a new message. There are comment boxes under every post and page. I will endeavour to answer all comments and questions posted here. I will save all comments* and reply in public so that everyone can join in with the conversations.
There will be a number of policy changes over the next few months, they will all be posted on here so that you can see the changes as they occur. My focus is always on providing the best possible education for the children in my care. It is a role that I take extremely seriously. I want to work in partnership with you all to ensure that our children are safe, happy and are challenged to be the best that they can be.
I am really excited about the coming year and I am very much looking forward to meeting you all next week.
